Bloodstock Open Air began in 2001 as an indoor event in Derby before moving to Catton Park in 2005, where it has grown into the UK's leading heavy metal festival. With a capacity of 20,000, it features four stages showcasing everything from classic metal to extreme subgenres. The festival is known for its Metal 2 The Masses competition, which gives unsigned bands a chance to play the main stage.
