📜 History
Download Festival was created by Andy Copping in 2003 as a replacement for the Monsters of Rock festival. The inaugural event featured Iron Maiden, Audioslave, and Deftones as headliners. Over two decades, it has become the UK's premier rock and metal festival, consistently selling out and attracting the biggest names in heavy music. The festival has weathered challenges including extreme weather and the COVID-19 pandemic, emerging stronger each time.
